good morning

there's so much going on in this marina at 6.30 already... and everyone is in a good mood today! I have so many things in my car, I can't believe how much struff I collected in only 5 months! If I go on like that I will have to move to Australia... :-)
Anyway, I'm off!!!

bedtime

I've had a busy day today - I was just running around on the boat making sure I leave everything in order and easy for whoever comes next... did some ironing this afternoon, which made me think. Not that I normally don't think :-), I think far too much anyway, but the thinking I do whilst ironing is the most productive. Or effective. Most of the time. Sooooo.........
I ended up baking a chocolate cake for Do's arrival on Tuesday, without a recipe, never would have thought it's gonna work, but it did.... must be Mark's spirit which is still floating around in the galley...
It's kind of strange to leave my home... I so got used to a fridge, oven, kitchen in general with all the equipment , washing machine and dryer, a TV, DVD player, about 200 movies to watch and the big and comfy couch etc.etc. no surprise things like that are found in every household...
Well, I got to go to bed, will have a long drive tomorrow, looking forward to it!

moving on

So, I finally really leave MV Aurora, after we just had our last Jeanine's going away dinner last night (we had about 4 already... but you know about me and good-bye Parties/Dinners....... they happen a few times in every place I am........ ( Richard, thank you for saving my evening with a good conversation after I got back home... please never stop listening to all these unimportant things I have to tell you.... :-) ) I'm about to pack my bags and get ready to live in my car again... Will drive up to Cairns tomorrow, and will pick up Do at the airport Tuesday morning. Cool!
The last charter wasn't very exhausting, and not too exciting, people not too nice except two of them, but it was a good last charter, as I was able to go swimming a lot and watch jackass every morning... (for some reason these people loved to watch jackass every morning????????) and I went snorkling, and I was finally working with a very nice chef, Mark, who's cooking is really, really good, fantastic, and on top of it he's a really nice person and we had a few glasses of wine together in the evenings... something I certainly never wanted to do with Shannon, the schizophrenic chef.... :-)
btw, I finally got The Cat Empire album last night, and I am very distracted this moning, cause every time I listen to "Lullaby" I have to get up and dance.... :-)
Anyway, the last four weeks in Airlie Beach were the best, when I got back from Cairns I met Christine, who works on Ulysses, Dick Smith's boat, which was sitting next to us in the port. Dick Smith's boat, which is an expedition boat and reminded me a lot of Steve Zissous' :-) ) quickly became everybody's home, having -finally again! wine, cheese and movie nights. And we found out that Christine and her boyfriend Trevor have already been my neighbours before, in St Barths two years ago, when I was working on Golden Cell and they were working on MY Queen. To meet people in the Caribbean and then in the Mediteranean again is pretty common, but Airlie Beach... funny coincidence....

The photos I took on the last charters are almost identically to what I put on my blog before... here's Whitehaven Beach again - we got a little closer and went on anker about 40 feet away. I went for a swim to the beach, took a walk, swam back... what a great way to start the day! Very squeaky sand, though...

Here are some pictures of Cape Tribulation, where I went with Brony and Julia for two days last time I was in Cairns. That's the beach we spent a whole day at, Brony and I exploring the surroundings, the jungle, the sea... Julia was asleep under a tree all day....
