moving on

So, I finally really leave MV Aurora, after we just had our last Jeanine's going away dinner last night (we had about 4 already... but you know about me and good-bye Parties/Dinners....... they happen a few times in every place I am........ ( Richard, thank you for saving my evening with a good conversation after I got back home... please never stop listening to all these unimportant things I have to tell you.... :-) ) I'm about to pack my bags and get ready to live in my car again... Will drive up to Cairns tomorrow, and will pick up Do at the airport Tuesday morning. Cool!
The last charter wasn't very exhausting, and not too exciting, people not too nice except two of them, but it was a good last charter, as I was able to go swimming a lot and watch jackass every morning... (for some reason these people loved to watch jackass every morning????????) and I went snorkling, and I was finally working with a very nice chef, Mark, who's cooking is really, really good, fantastic, and on top of it he's a really nice person and we had a few glasses of wine together in the evenings... something I certainly never wanted to do with Shannon, the schizophrenic chef.... :-)
btw, I finally got The Cat Empire album last night, and I am very distracted this moning, cause every time I listen to "Lullaby" I have to get up and dance.... :-)
Anyway, the last four weeks in Airlie Beach were the best, when I got back from Cairns I met Christine, who works on Ulysses, Dick Smith's boat, which was sitting next to us in the port. Dick Smith's boat, which is an expedition boat and reminded me a lot of Steve Zissous' :-) ) quickly became everybody's home, having -finally again! wine, cheese and movie nights. And we found out that Christine and her boyfriend Trevor have already been my neighbours before, in St Barths two years ago, when I was working on Golden Cell and they were working on MY Queen. To meet people in the Caribbean and then in the Mediteranean again is pretty common, but Airlie Beach... funny coincidence....
