London
I dropped off my mum at the airport on Thursday, and went to London to visit my friend Charlotte, and to just cruise around in the city.
Friday night we went to see a show at the Borderline, Saturday I went to Portobello Market (and ran into one of the 5 people I know in London...), nothing has changed, I don't know if that's good or bad, it's guess it's just Portobello Market... I still like it, though. Today we drove from the east home to Hammersmith along the river. There are some cool new buildings in the city, and big ben's still where it was before :-)
Stonehenge
We went passed Stonehenge on our way back to London. I was a bit disappointed that it's surrounded by freeways, but once I was able to ignore the noise of the cars, it wasn't too bad after all.
Stef and I
And Stef lives in Cardiff now, so I was able to see her, I stayed with her for a few days, then she went with us on a 2 day trip into the country
Swansea Peninsula
I had one day in Germany before my mum and I went to Wales. We went on a 10 day holiday together!
Wales is great! The beaches, little villages, pubs etc.
It was raining and ice cold most of the time, but we tried to make the best out of it.

descent mount Sinai
At 11pm we left Dahab to take a taxi to Mount Sinai. We arrived there at 2am, and started our climb up - it was a starry night, and there were camels along the way waiting for people to give up the walk and take a ride for a while.
Around 4 in the morning we stopped at a "Bedouin Kiosk" the bedouins gave us tea and blankets and we slept until it was time to climb up the lasts 700 steps to watch the sunrise.
business man Dahab
This guy rented out snorkling gear. He had two sets, which were quite damaged, of course the flippers didn't really fit us, but it worked, and after we came back freezing cold form our snorkling trip, because the water is still cold, he made us some tea on the beach to warm us up. He asked for a few cents for his services. Bless him.
Hurghada
we had to stay in Hurghada for a day, to wait for the ferry - which was then canceled because of bad weather. so instead of a 90 minute ferry trip, we organized someone to drive us to Suez (which was quite an adventure, the driver bribed the guy at the the police control (there were about 4 controls on the way) with a piece of candy and a notebook...????? - tourists in Egypt can normally only travel in convoy guided by policecars or in busses) and then took a bus to Dahab, which took us 14 hours all together. But what does it matter? :-)
Back in Germany
Unfortunatelly I didn't take a lot of pictures in Germany. I had troubles finding a adapter for my camara. And it was so cold that my batterie didn't work, I think. I don't know, but I've had a great time 2 weeks in Berlin, Munich, Schwaebisch Hall, Saarbruecken and Stuttgart.
It was snowing when I arrived in Berlin, which is over a month ago already. My dad picked me up at the airport, then we were going to see my sister in her new shop (www. ananstati.de), and then I spend the rest of the time in Berlin having fun, going out with my sister, meeting her friends, seeing a friend I've met in India, doing touristy things with my dad, going to variete and movies, and talking to my sister's cat :-)
After a few days my dad and I drove "home" to Bielefeld, which is where he moved to in September, and where he also moved all the things which I still had with him in his old flat in Gaildorf. Good job, dad. I got lost in reading letters from years ago, and I also picked up some suitable winter clothes and my backpack for my trip to Egypt.
Next stop: Saarbruecken (Dreiwettertaft, und die Haare halten immernoch, oder aehnich, ha, ha - gibt es nur 3 "Wetter"???????), where I went to school for 2 years.Stayed with Isabel for 2days. We went out and saw the same people from 6 years ago. They are all still there... After that I went to see my mum in Schwaebisch Hall, then to the Heinrich's family in Munich.
After 2 weeks in Germany I went to Egypt with Nicola!
Here a few pictures!
finally the opera house photo...
...yep, me, the opera house, habour bridge... the ultimate photo of Australia?? I don't think so... (plus I was distracted pulling my hair out :-) )
pink baby bananas
... someone wanted to have a prove of pink bananas... Stef? I can't remember, but anyway, here it is!
bats in Sydney
they are everywhere! It's great to watch them in the evening when they are getting active and fly around Sydney!
